John 15:1-17
In this passage God talks about HIM being the vine and we (his children) are the branches that's connected to the vine. He says every branch that doesn't bear fruit he takes away and every branch that bears fruit he cleanses so that it can bear more fruit. It requires faith as little as a mustard seed to trust that God can make you better. Do you trust him by allowing him to continue to prune that old man off of you? Or do you struggle with getting out of your own way? Our stubbornness, ego and pride is the reason things blow up in our faces because we truly don't trust what we can't see, touch or feel. So many people make or base decisions off of a feeling, and feelings can be so very misleading. God says abide in me and I will abide in you. If you are connected to the vine then you can continue to produce much fruit but apart from God you can do absolutely NOTHING! When you don't pray as you should, or study God's word as you should then technically you're spiritually anorexic because you've been depriving your spirit the nutritional value that it needs in order to stay strong, to grow, to fight off viruses and diseases that attack your body because it wants to destroy your body. This is exactly how Satan operates. He's a roaring Lion seeking to devour whomever he can because your mind/spirit is weak enough for Satan to have his way with you. Think about it when your focus isn't on God or your faith is weak that's when you get tempted and tested the most. The devil will never attack you where you're the strongest but the weakest. I struggle with this in certain areas of my life because I am human and humans like to think and feel that their in control of their lives and we most certainly are not. God says, "If a man abide not in me he casts forth the branch & is withered & he gathers them & cast them into fire to burn. When you are walking accordingly in the word you can ask God for whatever your heart desires & it will be done unto you." This is my commandment that you love one another even as God has loved you. Greater love has no man than to lay down his life for his friends. God says you're my friend if you do the things which I command you.
I don't know about you but this passage is very deep and requires a lot of patience, meekness and humbleness to be obedient in the way God speaks of. You have to mature in Christ, in your walk and relationship with God to arrive at this point and be able to love your enemies and pray for them who mean no good. Every chance I get I am reading a book to help me grow spiritually, physically and mentally. I try to be a blessing to at least one person daily ON PURPOSE. You never know what someone else may be going through and as I always say God can't get the glory if you don't share your story. We all have a story to tell or share that will help give hope to a hopeless person if we are children of God.
Thanks for tuning into my blog and sharing with friends... Hugs n Kisses!
