The Harsh Tongue!

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger!" ~ Proverbs 15:1

The imprudent use of your tongue will never bring forth the results you desire. When you're impatient, frustrated and angry with others you will tear down someone with your tongue intentionally or unintentionally. When you open your mouth wisdom and kindness should come out of your mouth(Proverbs 31:26).

You should adopt speaking kindness as a principle in other people's lives and be intentional about it. There is never any justification for being harsh or speaking unkind communication. Be intentional and deliberate at choosing warmhearted, kind, compassionate, sympathetic and uplifting words especially to those who we feel don't deserve it. Have you ever heard the saying, "Kill a person with kindness?" Before we go to anyone we must approach God in prayer first, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts, actions.

"So as my words depart from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it!" ~ Isaiah 55:11 We can't accomplish God's purpose while being harsh.

If you find that you are prone to speaking harshly when angry, begin to seek God for deliverance. "He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, & he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city!" ~ Proverbs 16:32

You can begin to take control over that destructive behavior by the power of the Holy Spirit.
